The Craft

Made slowly, on purpose

An independent Amsterdam atelier, working in small runs — because a shirt worth keeping can't be rushed.

The Cloth

We start with the cloth, always

Giza-sateen with its low sheen, washed French linen that softens with wear, fine two-ply twills that hold a line. We choose cloths for how they feel after the tenth wash, not the first — because that is the wear that matters.

The Materials

The cloths we build on

Every Guivage shirt starts as one honest cloth — chosen, not blended down. Here is what we work with, and exactly what's in it.

Egyptian Giza Cotton · Poplin
100% Giza cotton
120's two-ply poplin · Monti mill, Italy
Crisp, fine and cool — the classic banker hand.
Egyptian Giza Cotton · Sateen
100% long-staple Giza cotton
Sateen weave
Full-bodied with a low sheen, and still breathes.
Two-Ply Twill
100% cotton
Two-ply twill weave
Structured and everyday; holds a clean line.
Washed French Linen
100% linen
155 g/m² plain weave · washed finish
Airy and textured; softens from the very first wear.
Lightweight Stretch
Cotton · elastane for stretch
Easy-Care finish
A soft hand with a little give — sharp all day.

The Making

Small runs, and made-to-order when it counts

We cut in limited numbers, so every shirt gets the attention a good garment deserves. Our atelier line is made only once you've ordered — no overproduction, no warehouse of the unwanted. It asks a little patience; it returns a shirt made for you.

The Details

The things you notice up close

01
Contrast buttons & thread
A considered flash of colour where most shirts settle for plain. No logo required; the finish speaks for itself.
02
The Neapolitan cocktail cuff
A softly folded cuff shaped by hand — the detail a discerning eye finds first, and remembers.
03
Cleanly finished
Seams finished with care, collars cut to sit. The quiet marks of a shirt that was made, not assembled.
Honestly

A young house, and glad to say so

Guivage began in Amsterdam in 2022. We are not a centuries-old maison and we don't pretend to be. The honesty of a modern atelier is the story: real care, in real numbers, for the life you're actually living.
